What is Dental Bonding?
At Peterborough Dental Clinic, our dentists often use dental bonding to help restore a patient's smile.
Dental bonding can assist in repairing minor discolourations and chips in tooth enamel.
Request AppointmentDental Bonding in Peterborough: Our Process
The minimally invasive process of dental bonding involves tooth-coloured composite material being applied to a tooth. The material is then sculpted into shape, hardened and polished.
The composite is applied in layers and a light is used to harden each layer.
After the last layer has hardened, your dentist will shape and polish it to fit the contours of your teeth. The result: A smooth and natural finished look!
Benefits of Bonding
Dentists typically use dental bonding to fix chipped or discoloured teeth. It can also be used to alter the colour and shape of a tooth or to close gaps between teeth.
Your dentist will make sure to match the composite resin to the shade of your natural teeth so that it blends in and looks natural.
Thanks to the composite, your teeth will also be stronger so you can enjoy your favourite foods without having to worry about cracking your tooth again.
